As the stage on which emotions play out, body is the liminal space incubating the transformation of "my" inner to "our" outer. In all my work there is a recurring structure based on gesture. This might seem natural as a singer/actress or as a painter, but gesture is also the underpinning of my photographs and poetry. I'm a singer, I'm a painter, I'm a photographer, I'm a playwright, I'm an actress, I'm a maskmaker, and I'm a poet. I'm a free spirit, I'm a maverick. I wear all those hats proudly. Visual art is something I do when I need to go inward. The same with poetry. But the performer in me needs a dialogue with the audience, in the moment.
